Air Fryer Boneless Pork Chops
The Air Fryer could definitely be considered a ‘Baseball Mom Essential’. While I love my Instant Pot, my Crockpot, and my microwave, the Air Fryer is quickly become indispensable, especially during Baseball season. While the microwave is great for cooking my favorite weeknight side dishes like microwave Broccoli and Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice, the Air Fryer is my go-to for getting the main dish ready in record time.
Air Fryer Boneless Pork Chops are quickly becoming a weeknight staple in my house. Boneless pork chops are a great protein for weeknight dinners during baseball season. A relatively inexpensive protein, its lean (usually just one piece of easily removable fat along one side of the chop), kid friendly, and easy to prepare (just pat dry and season). It cooks quickly in the air fryer, with one caveat: you need to remove the chops from the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking time.

Removing the chops from the fridge ahead of time gives the pork time to adjust to room temperature, which reduces cooking time and therefore keeps the pork juicy and tender.
If you don’t have time to remove the chops 30 minutes before cooking, no problem! You will just need to adjust the cooking time by adding a few minutes of cooking time (while monitoring the internal temperature of the pork) but once the pork reaches 145 degrees, it’s done.
The Gourmia 6 QT Air Fryer
I actually have two air fryers, but the one I use for weeknight meals like this is the Gourmia 6 Qt Air Fryer. It’s the perfect size for our family of 4. While it retails for nearly $100 on Amazon, you may be able to find it for much less at your local Costco store. Nevertheless, it’s a great Air Fryer, and I love it for how easy it is to use (there are preset buttons for Veggies, Fries, Wings, Fish, etc.) but it also allows me to adjust the temperature and time if I need to for a specific recipe. Other benefits include being easy to clean (the two basket inserts are dishwasher safe, and believe me that is a HUGE plus) and the basket itself can be immersed in the sink for easy cleaning. I line the bottom of the basket with parchment paper or tinfoil to reduce the need for scrubbing.
The size of the air fryer is another big benefit – it doesn’t need to sit out on my counter but can fit in a lower cabinet. However, the air fryer is currently sitting on my counter because I have used it almost every day, at least once, this week!
This recipe was made using my Gourmia 6 Qt Air Fryer. As is the case with all air fryers, you may need to adjust cooking times by a couple minutes either way with different brands and sizes of air fryers. I’ve tested a couple different air fryers in my search for the perfect one for our family of 4, but a larger or smaller air fryer will likely need a couple minutes shorter or longer cooking time. You will need to monitor the temperature of your dish and adjust accordingly if it seems to be cooking longer or slower than the recipe.
Boneless Pork Chops in the Air Fryer
Notes
- Taking the pork chops out of the fridge 30 minutes prior to cooking is the key to a short cook time. If you're in a hurry and can't do this, you will need to adjust your cook time by 5 minutes or more.
- Pork chops are a great make-ahead meal! To reheat cooked chops, pre-heat the air fryer to 375. Put the chops back in the air fryer for about 2-3 minutes, flipping once.
- If making more than 4 chops, it is best to work in batches. Air fryers work best when there is room for the hot air to circulate around the food being cooked, so don't crowd the air fryer.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 4 Tbsp Barbecue seasoning (we like Bone Suckin' Sauce Seasoning), or salt and pepper
- Optional: 1/2 cup Barbecue sauce, plus more for serving (if desired)
- Non stick cooking spray
Instructions
- Remove pork chops from refrigerator 30 minutes prior to cooking. Pat dry. Season chops generously on both sides with barbecue seasoning (or salt and pepper, if using) and allow to sit at room temperature until ready to cook.
- Preheat air fryer to 375. Once air fryer has preheated, remove basket and spray with non stick cooking oil spray.
- Place pork chops in air fryer basket, leaving at least 1/2 inch space between chops. Set cook time to 12 minutes.
- Allow to cook for 6 minutes, then flip chops over. Cook for 6 more minutes.
- Check pork chops for doneness. Pork chops are done when inner temperature reaches 145 degrees. Add cooking time if needed.
- Optional: Brush cooked pork chops with barbecue sauce and put back in the air fryer for 1 minute, if desired.
