Baseball End of Season Checklist
Another successful travel baseball season has come and gone, and now it’s time to pack up and store all that equipment until Winter training starts. As a Baseball Mom, you know that being organized is key when it comes to baseball equipment. A little organization now can help you easily find what you need, save money, and extend the life of your equipment. Here are some tips on how to evaluate, clean and store baseball equipment for next season.
Evaluate Equipment and Uniform Condition
Take a close look at all the equipment that you have and evaluate what is still in good condition and what needs to be replaced. This includes gloves, bats, helmets, cleats, and more. Make a list of what you’ll need for next season so you can be prepared when all those Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales start!
Clean Equipment before Storage
Before storing, make sure to clean all of your equipment. Over the course of a season, baseball gear can accumulate dirt, sweat, and bacteria, which creates an unpleasant odor. Consider using a solution of water and vinegar to disinfect your gear. This will make sure your equipment smells fresh for next season.
Store and Organize Equipment
Find a dry, climate-controlled area to store your equipment in. If you have a garage, it’s a great option. You can use shelves, hooks, or even a duffel bag to store your equipment. Make sure to store everything in a similar spot so that you can easily find it next year.
Donate Outgrown Equipment
If there is old equipment which won’t be used anymore, consider donating it. Donating equipment not only helps others, but it also clears out space in your storage. You can give it to your local youth baseball programs, schools or even charitable organizations. Ensure the equipment you are donating is in good condition.
Clean and Organize Baseball Parent Gear
Chairs, tents, and coolers should be cleaned and stored so they’re ready to go in Spring. Make note of what needs to be replaced so that you’re ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
